Eva-dry EVD 1100 Electric Petite Dehumidifier – Compact dehumidifier for small spaces.

Do you have a ventilation problem in your bathroom? Moldy closets and walls? Look no further, as the Eva-dry Electric Petite Dehumidifier (EVD 1100) can help take the dampness away. This light and compact dehumidifier is ideal for small enclosed spaces such as bathrooms and closets. One reviewer thought it worked efficiently for small bedrooms too.

Eva-dry Electric Petite Dehumidifier

As the name says it, Eva-dry Electric Petite is a small dehumidifier which weighs only about 3 pounds and holds up to 16 oz. of water. Depending on the humidity of the selected area, the reservoir can take three days to one week to fill up.

This little appliance runs on electricity and has an automatic shut off feature to prevent the full reservoir spilling. When the reservoir needs to be drained, an indicator light will be shown.

Eva-dry Electric Petite Dehumidifier – What is not good about it

Regrettably, despite the EVD 1100 using a thermoelectric cooler instead of a compressor, the fan is still loud enough to disturb sleep at night, one reviewer pointed out. On the other hand, another user asserted that the dehumidifier, when placed in an open bathroom, cannot be heard from the attached bedroom.

Summary

The EVD 1100 is most suitable to be used in small humid places like closets and small bathrooms, but not quite so appropriate for bedrooms where the area is larger and quietness is preferred.

I’ve got a small unit very similiar to this, works great for small areas but I think the problem with these units is that they tend to use cheap fans and hence the noise. Its a shame really as a thermoelectric dehumidifer should be silent really.
